This policy explains how Quibo uses cookies and similar technologies on quibo.co.uk. Quibo is a product of Allen Living Limited (Companies House 14787139), registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration ZC177345).

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences. Similar technologies such as tracking pixels work in a comparable way. We group everything we use into the two categories below.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary— always on. These make the site work: they remember your cookie choices and keep the site secure and functional. They can't be switched off, and we don't need your consent for them because the site can't run without them. This includes the cookie that records your consent choice (quibo_consent), which lasts 6 months (182 days). This category also includes a copy of your calculator progress, which we keep in your browser's session storage so that reloading the page doesn't lose your progress. That copy never leaves your device and is cleared when you close the tab.

Analytics & advertising — off until you turn them on. These help us understand how people find and use Quibo, and measure the performance of our advertising. They only run if you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time. This category includes the Meta (Facebook) Pixel — see below.

The Meta Pixel

If, and only if, you accept analytics & advertising cookies, we load the Meta Pixel. It tells us when a visit or a sign-up came from one of our Facebook or Instagram adverts, so we can see which adverts work and stop paying for the ones that don't.

We do not send Meta any of your financial information through the Pixel. It never receives your income, your CIS deductions, or any refund estimate. If you don't accept analytics & advertising cookies, the Meta Pixel does not load at all.

Your choices, and how to change them

When you first visit Quibo you're asked to accept or reject analytics & advertising cookies. Rejecting is as easy as accepting. Strictly necessary cookies aren't part of that choice because the site needs them to work.

You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link on the site, which reopens the cookie banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may stop parts of the site working.
