Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5 August 2026
These terms explain how Quibo works and what you can expect from us. We've written them in plain English. Quibo is software that helps you prepare and file your own CIS tax refund — you stay in control the whole way, and the refund is paid straight into your own account.
Who we are
Quibo is a product of Allen Living Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (Companies House number 14787139). In these terms, "Quibo", "we", "us" and "our" mean Allen Living Limited.
Quibo is software, not a tax agent. We help you do the slow, fiddly part — the digging, the sorting and the paperwork — but you file your own claim with HMRC and you remain responsible for it. We are not your accountant and we don't replace regulated tax advice.
A flat fee, never a percentage
We charge a single, fixed fee for using Quibo — the flat fee shown at sign-up. It is the same amount whatever the size of your refund: we never take a percentage or a cut of what you get back. The fee that applies to you is the one stated up front, before you commit, with no hidden extras.
No win, no fee
You are only charged the flat fee once HMRC has confirmed a refund and that refund is greater than the fee. If your claim doesn't result in a refund, or the refund doesn't exceed the fee, you pay nothing.
Your refund is always paid directly to your own bank account by HMRC. Quibo never receives your refund and never nominates itself to be paid on your behalf — the money goes to you.
Estimates, not guarantees
Every figure shown in our calculator and inside the app is a conservative estimate, not a guarantee. Your final refund is determined by HMRC and is subject to their review — we can't promise a specific amount, or that you'll receive a refund at all.
You don't have to use Quibo: you can claim a CIS refund yourself, directly with HMRC, for free at gov.uk. Our fee is for the software and the work it saves you, not for access to your refund.
Your right to cancel (14 days)
You have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of signing up, without giving a reason. If you cancel within this period and no fee has yet become due, you owe us nothing.
Saving your card
When you save a payment card with us, you pre-authorise us to charge the flat fee to that card off-session (without you needing to be present). We will only ever make that charge once your refund has been confirmed by HMRC and exceeds the fee — consistent with our no-win-no-fee terms above. We never charge a card before those conditions are met.
Limitation of liability
Quibo helps you prepare and file your claim, but you are responsible for your own filing and for the accuracy of the information you submit to HMRC. You should review everything before you file. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the outcome of your claim, for any HMRC decision, or for losses arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Data & privacy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. Quibo is registered with the ICO for data protection.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
